Hebron – Together – At the invitation of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, the Prisoners’ Families Committee, the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority, the National Forces in the Hebron Governorate, and the governorate’s activities, a protest was organized today in the middle of the Ibn Rushd roundabout in the city of Al-Hilal, denouncing the crimes of the occupation against the prisoners of the Gaza Strip who are detained in the criminal camps, especially in the ‘Sadeh’ camp. Timan” in the Negev desert and the atrocities, crimes and executions they are subjected to, including dozens of people who became martyrs according to official reports issued by the Hebrew press.

A crowd of families of male and female prisoners, representatives of the national forces, directors of national institutions, the Political and National Guidance Authority, and Al-Quds Open University, with its president, Dr. Muhammad Al-Haroub, the university’s staff, the Fatah movement in the central Hebron region, and the cadres of the liberated pri
soners, participated in the protest.

Participants in the protest raised pictures of prisoners and banners bearing slogans denouncing the crimes of the occupation in detention camps, and others calling on the international community and human rights organizations to assume their responsibilities regarding what the prisoners are exposed to, and calling on the United Nations to intervene urgently to close these camps, which surpassed the Guantánamo camp in the atrocities committed against the prisoners.

In a speech, Amjad Al-Najjar, the official spokesman for the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, reviewed the atrocities committed against prisoners in concentration camps, which exceeded in their ugliness what happened in Guantánamo, especially the detention of detainees in ‘Sde Teman’, who are classified as ‘unlawful combatants’ under Israeli legislation, for a period of time. Up to 75 days without a warrant, and 90 days without access to a lawyer, let alone a trial.

Al-Najjar stressed that the level of horrific cr
imes that are increasingly being revealed against Gaza detainees in the occupation camps, specifically in the ‘Sde Teman’ camp, confirms that these data constitute the minimum level of the continuing crimes against Gaza detainees, in light of the continuing crime of enforced disappearance against them, since the beginning of the aggression and genocide. .

He added that the “Sde Teman” camp, which was formed after October 7, is considered a prominent location for torture operations with an unprecedented intensity, especially since most of the crimes that were revealed were linked to the name of this camp. He stated that among the details that appeared in an investigation published by the Hebrew media, according to the testimony of one of the occupation doctors, was that two detainees were subjected to amputation of their limbs, as a result of injuries resulting from the ongoing restraints against them, as the sick detainees remain blindfolded alongside the ongoing restraints of their limbs.

Al-Najjar pointed
out in his speech that this testimony came some time after it was revealed that 27 detainees from Gaza had died in occupation camps as a result of torture and medical crimes, without their identities being revealed, and it is also an indication of the possibility that the number of martyrs is higher.

Al-Najjar expressed his fear, in light of what is happening, that the crime of enforced disappearance will turn into a permanent approach with regard to Gaza detainees, as the occupation is trying to innovate and install tools to consolidate this approach through legal regulations, despite several requests from Palestinian and international human rights institutions to reveal the fate of the prisoners, but they are not… He received listening ears, adding that they have not been able to date to reassure any family from Gaza about their children, as the occupation continues to prevent the Red Cross from visiting them, as well as any other human rights institution.

Al-Najjar called on the United Nations and all
international institutions to assume their responsibilities regarding the crimes carried out by the occupation against prisoners, which constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian norms and laws. Adding that monitoring crimes is no longer sufficient, in light of the volume of crimes continuing against prisoners after October 7th.

In his speech, Maher Al-Salaymeh, representative of the National Forces, confirmed the ‘Nazi actions’ carried out by the Israeli occupation against prisoners in concentration camps, adding to its criminal record, and violating all international laws, conventions and customs, and the decisions of the International Court of Justice.

Al-Salaymeh called on the International Criminal Court, the Security Council, and UN institutions and bodies to prosecute the Israeli occupation and its supporters, and to issue immediate binding decisions to stop the Israeli Holocaust against the prisoners of the Palestinian people.

In a speech by the Fatah movement, delivered by Maher
Al-Nammoura, the media outlet on behalf of the Fatah movement in the southern region, he held the Israeli occupation government responsible for the lives of prisoners in concentration camps, considering that what the occupation prison administration is doing against our prisoners amounts to war crimes, stressing that international law requires guaranteeing the lives of Palestinian prisoners. As prisoners of the Palestinian national struggle for freedom and self-determination, just like all peoples of the world.

Al-Namura explained that the Palestinian prisoners and the Palestinian people are resisting an ongoing occupation, with the recognition of the international community with all its institutions, states, organizations and individuals. Therefore, the Palestinian people have a legitimate right to resist, and their prisoners are prisoners of war and freedom fighters to whom international law and all international agreements, charters and resolutions apply.

Al-Nammoura called on all segments of the Palesti
nian people to rally around the prisoners’ issue and to unite efforts from everyone to expose the crimes of the occupation and prosecute all members of the occupation government and bring them to international courts.

At the end of the protest, the participants chanted national slogans denouncing the crimes of the occupation and praising the steadfastness of the prisoners despite all the measures of repression and abuse.
