Diriyah Global Seminar Explores Arabian Peninsula History and Oasis Heritage

Diriyah: The Diriyah Gate Development Authority has launched the Diriyah Global Seminar, attracting prominent researchers and specialists in the fields of Arabian Peninsula history, world history, and environmental studies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the seminar aims to promote academic research focused on Diriyah and the Arabian Peninsula, delving into the region's extensive history and Saudi heritage while emphasizing the global importance of oases. The event began with a speech by Al-Ahsa Governor and Development Authority CEO Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, who highlighted the profound impact of nature on human identity, emphasizing the link between Diriyah, Wadi Hanifah, and the Al-Ahsa Oasis.

The two-day seminar includes lectures, dialogue sessions, and workshops that offer a comprehensive exploration of oases, covering topics from geographical origins to intangible cultural aspects. Discussions will address the environment as a catalyst for sustainable development, the social role of tribes in oasis civilizations, modern technologies in heritage preservation, and water management in the Kingdom.
