Eastern Region Governor Endorses Ajdan Island Tourism Development Agreement

Dammam: Eastern Region Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz sponsored the signing of the Ajdan Island tourism development project agreement on Al-Khobar Corniche. The agreement represents a collaborative effort among the Tourism Development Fund (TDF), Eastern Region Municipality, and Ajdan Real Estate Development Company, with a total investment exceeding SAR300 million. The event was attended by Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Fund Ahmed Al-Khateeb, along with various officials.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the governor acknowledged the robust support and significant attention that the tourism sector in the Kingdom receives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This backing has played a vital role in elevating the sector's stature and its contribution to national development. He highlighted the necessity of collaboration among relevant entities and the unification of efforts to develop tourism projects. This cooperation aims to enhance service quality, support regional development, utilize tourism assets to boost the national economy, and generate employment opportunities for the region's youth.

Mayor of Eastern Region Fahad Al-Jubeir remarked that the project is part of the investment initiatives undertaken with the municipality, expected to have a significant and direct impact on tourism by fostering job creation. He mentioned that this project will serve as a vital addition to the tourist attractions in Al-Khobar.

The initiative focuses on transforming the Al-Khobar Water Tower area into a comprehensive tourist hub. This destination will offer world-class restaurants, seafront caf©s, entertainment spaces, and a fully integrated commercial zone, as well as a panoramic restaurant with views of Al-Khobar. With a total investment surpassing SAR300 million, the project will enhance the Tourism Development Fund's portfolio in the Eastern Region, which has already exceeded SAR12.7 billion.
