Berlin, July 18, 2022, SPA — Egypt’s President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi underscored the importance of coordination and cooperation among all countries of the world to confront the energy crisis and alleviate its negative impacts, describing it as a global crisis that is not confined to the provision of energy supplies but extends to the cost of those supplies, directly affecting the prices on countries of the world, including Egypt.

In a joint press conference with Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin today, Al-Sisi said Egypt is determined to exert efforts in coordination with its partners to settle the crises of the world and tackle the reasons for tensions in the region, noting that his country is continuing to find a fair solution to its water security through reaching a legally-biding agreement on filling and operating Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam.

He said he agreeed with the German Chancellor on cooperation towards tense issues of the region, topped by the Palestinian issue, facing extremism and terrorism, illegal immigration and work to alleviate the repercussions of the current world economic crisis on most vulnerable countries.

For his part, the German Chancellor lauded Egypt’s pivotal role in achieving stability in the region, citing Gaza strip and Libya, confirming the importance of enhancing joint cooperation between Egypt and Germany for more joint projects between the two countries.
