Minister of Foreign Affairs His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, held a phone call with the Minister of European and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Igli Hasani.
During the phone call, the two sides discussed developments in the situation in Gaza and its surroundings, and the international efforts made to address them, stressing the rejection of targeting civilians in any form, and the need for all parties to respect international humanitarian law.
His Highness urged Albania, by virtue of its role as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, to work to ensure that the Council fulfills its responsibility to maintain international peace and security by pushing for an immediate cessation of military operations and lifting the siege on Gaza. His Highness stressed the importance of the Council’s implementation of its decisions regarding the Palestinian issue, particularly Resolutions 242 (1967), 338 (1873), 1515 (2003), and 2334 (2016), to establish a just and sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with the relevant international references.
