The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has issued a press release announcing the release of the updated national version of the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM).

According to the release, this model serves as a methodological framework for statistical work in the Kingdom, and acts as a primary reference for the issuance of statistics in both government and private institutions. It is adopted in the General Authority for Statistics’ operations.

According to GASTAT, the release of the national GSBPM version, which is in line with the latest international version issued by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, aims to improve the quality of statistical processes at all stages. It also aims to standardize the work processes used in the production of statistics, and bolster the quality and effectiveness of statistics, to meet the targets of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

According to the authority, the updated version includes terminology, definitions and details about the sta
ges of statistical production, from identifying needs to design, data collection, processing, analysis, publication, and evaluation. This harmonizes statistical work in the Kingdom with the methodologies applied in many international statistical agencies, and facilitates coordination among various sectors involved in statistics.

GASTAT has made the model available on its official website in both Arabic and English, and allows statisticians, researchers, government and private institutions, and other interested parties to download and benefit from it. Customers can also reach out to the authority for further information and explanations about the model.

The authority says it is committed to providing comprehensive and credible statistical products and services, aligned with the best international standards and practices, and thus become the most distinguished and innovative statistical reference supporting social and economic development in the Kingdom.
