Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi received Ambassador of Spain to Saudi Arabia Javier Carbajosa Sanchez at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh today. Albudaiwi congratulated the ambassador on his appointment as Spain's ambassador to Saudi Arabia and wished him success in his duties.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, several topics were discussed, most importantly, reviewing GCC-Spanish relations and ways to develop and bolster them in order to serve common goals. Both parties also discussed the strategic relations that link the GCC countries with both Spain and the European Union (EU) in various fields.

Views were also exchanged on a number of regional and international issues, and in this context, Albudaiwi praised Spain's position and efforts towards the Palestinian issue and their support for the brotherly Palestinian people.
