GDNC Director General Emphasizes Saudi Arabia’s Leading Role in Combating Drug Trade

Riyadh: On the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse, observed on June 26 every year, Director General of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Qarni highlighted Saudi Arabia’s leading role in combating the drug trade. He emphasized the Ministry of Interior’s pivotal role in safeguarding citizens through stringent laws, robust enforcement, and proactive measures aimed at combating drug trafficking and abuse.

Al-Qarni commended the relentless efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s security forces in confronting drug smugglers, citing their expertise, skills, and technological capabilities in deterring drug trafficking as essential in protecting society. He also acknowledged their role in using various media platforms to raise public awareness about the devastating impact of drug abuse on individuals and communities.
