Najran: Governor of Najran Region Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed reviewed the 'We Serve Them with Care' initiative, launched by the regional branch of the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Public Health Authority (Weqaya) and the Your Help Health Association in Najran (Awnak), to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season 1446 AH.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the review took place during a meeting held in Prince Jalawi's office with Dr. Ibrahim Bani Hamim, Director General of the Ministry of Health branch in the region and General Supervisor of Health Services at the Al-Wadiah Port. During the meeting, Prince Jalawi was briefed on preparations for receiving pilgrims arriving through the port, which include providing necessary vaccinations in line with international health regulations, ensuring availability of rapid testing devices for epidemic diseases, and monitoring health conditions for travelers.
Efforts also encompass the detection of public health emergencies at Al-Wadiah Port Health Control Center, implementation of public health protocols, infection control, environmental sanitation, and vector control. The initiative further includes treatment services and medical transport supported by the Awnak Association, which has deployed ambulances and specialized medical personnel to respond to health emergencies and provide care to pilgrims.
The newly established regional Weqaya office is overseeing the implementation of preventive health measures for pilgrims and travelers passing through the port, including inspection of transportation means and readiness to respond to any public health emergencies.
