Madinah: The date sector in Madinah Region continues to record strong growth, driven by the region's rich agricultural resources and expanding investment opportunities. Economic indicators released by the Madinah Chamber show the region is home to more than 8.1 million date palms, accounting for 21.6% of the Kingdom's total. Of these, about 6.5 million are fruit-bearing, representing 20.2% of the national total. Date production reached 346,933 tons, or 18% of the Kingdom's total output, marking an 8.4% increase between 2017 and 2024.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the figures underscore Madinah's position as one of Saudi Arabia's leading date-producing regions and highlight its growing role in strengthening agricultural value chains, improving production efficiency, and expanding investment opportunities in food processing, marketing, and exports.
