IMCTC Concludes Advanced Program in Kenya on Counter-Terrorism Financing and Anti-Money Laundering

Nairobi: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) concluded its advanced training program yesterday titled Counter-Terrorism Financing and Anti-Money Laundering - Advanced Level in Nairobi, Kenya. The five-day program was implemented as part of the coalition's Capacity Building strategic initiative, which aims to strengthen member states' national capabilities to combat financial crimes linked to terrorism. The closing ceremony was attended by Kenya's Deputy Army Commander Maj. Gen. Mohamed Nour Hassan and several civilian and military officials.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program brought together specialists from the banking, financial, and security sectors, including financial compliance officers, financial investigators, and professionals involved in combating money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as representatives of regulatory and supervisory authorities. The advanced training combined theoretical knowledge with applied practical exercises.

Sessions addressed advanced frameworks of international legislation, emerging methods of terrorist financing, mechanisms of money laundering, and the use of digital technologies for monitoring and analysis. The program also covered leadership skills and corporate compliance management, supported by case studies and intensive exercises designed to enhance participants' ability to trace suspicious financial flows and analyze complex patterns.

The IMCTC affirmed that the implementation of this program reflects its commitment to supporting member states in building effective national systems to combat terrorist financing and financial crimes, enhancing coordination with regional and international partners, and raising the efficiency of specialists. These efforts contribute to developing integrated responses that keep pace with rapidly evolving challenges in this field and support security and stability at both national and international levels.
