Riyadh: The Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) on Tuesday launched a new digital platform to boost South-South cooperation, on the sidelines of its ongoing annual meetings at the International Conference Center in Algiers. The platform, inaugurated by IsDB Chairman Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, is a digital tool designed to strengthen collaboration among the bank's 57 member countries by facilitating the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and development solutions to address shared challenges.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the platform is operated by the bank and allows users to submit requests or offers, enabling smart matchmaking with relevant partners based on criteria such as sectors or areas of interest. This initiative is expected to enhance the cooperative efforts among member countries by providing a centralized hub for sharing and accessing resources.
The platform also offers services from specialized institutes and research centers capable of providing consulting services and delivering solutions. These services focus particularly on critical areas such as energy, infrastructure, education, and health, aiming to support sustainable development and address specific needs within the IsDB member countries.
By leveraging this digital platform, the IsDB seeks to create new opportunities for collaboration and innovation, ultimately contributing to the economic and social development of its member nations.
