KFSHRC to Participate in AMEE Glasgow 2023 Conference

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) will participate in the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) 2023 conference, to be held in Glasgow, UK, on August 26-30.

KFSHRC aims to showcase its experience and innovations in the field of medical education through advanced initiatives and programs concerning academic education and medical training.

Pioneering healthcare and education professionals from all over the world will take part in the conference, where KFSHRC will present concepts it has employed in academic medical education that contributed to transforming the conventional method of passing on medical knowledge and skills into a comprehensive innovative approach that seeks to address the challenges faced by medical trainees and prepare skilled health personnel; KFSHRC provided 71 residency programs for 790 residents, 103 fellowship programs in which 481 fellows enrolled, and trained 1,279 residents and fellows from around the world.

Acting CEO of Education and Training Department at KFSHRC Dr. Saud Al-Shunaifi said that KFSHRC’s participation in this global event comes within its strategy to bolster its leading role in imparting medical knowledge based on research and innovation.

Deputy Executive Director of Academic and Training Affairs at KFSHRC Ali Alshehri said that KFSHRC is slated to present comprehensive and advanced programs in academic education and medical training at the conference, adding that the programs aim to reflect KFSHRC’s role in improving medical education according to international practices and shed light on medical education challenges in various health specialities.

The Education and Training Department at KFSHRC has developed training curricula, employed simulation techniques to train healthcare practitioners, adopted innovative training methods, enhanced trainees’ participation in the decision-making process, and launched initiatives to train health practitioners on the basis of clinical research, which contributed to publishing many scientific papers.

KFSHRC’s participation in the AMEE Glasgow 2023 conference reflects its commitment to enhancing medical education, improving health care by integrating advanced technologies and enriching medical education through cooperation with international counterparts.

KFSHRC is one of the most prominent hospitals in the world that provides specialized health care. It was recently ranked 20th in the most reputable academic medical centres list for 2023, and the first in the Middle East and Africa, according to the Global Top 250 Hospitals Report for 2023 issued by Brand Finance.
