King Khalid University Among Top 500 Globally and Fifth in Saudi Arabia in 2024 Shanghai Ranking

King Khalid University has made significant strides in the Shanghai World University Ranking this year, advancing to the 401-500th place globally, and securing fifth place among Saudi universities.

This achievement underscores the university’s growing reputation as a leading national and international academic and research institution.

This progress is a testament to the university’s relentless efforts to improve its academic programs and strengthen its research capabilities, bringing them in line with the highest international standards.

The university’s ambitious strategy, aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Aseer Region Development Strategy, has been pivotal in driving excellence in education and scientific research.

Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at King Khalid University Prof. Hamed Majdou Al-Qarni attributed this leap to the university’s emphasis on improving the quality of published scientific research, increasing citation rates, and fostering internatio
nal collaboration in research.

He stressed that the quality of education, the academic excellence of the faculty, the research output, and the overall academic performance relative to the institution’s size have been instrumental in achieving this distinction.
