Tabuk– Director General of Partnerships at the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority (KSRNR) Abdullah bin Qadhaan reiterated that the reserve seeks to achieve a balance between preserving natural and cultural components and developing the eco-tourism experience.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), on the sidelines of the launch of the second phase yesterday, which includes planting 100,000 trees with the contribution of “Maaden” within the “Leave a Trace” initiative adopted by the reserve, Qadhaan said this comes within the framework of partnership, social responsibility, environmental commitment, and concern for a sustainable environment.

He added that KSRNR is keen to support the sustainable welfare of local communities and contribute to national economic development, given that the reserve is the largest in the Middle East with an area of more than 130,000 square kilometers, and is characterized by a huge diversity in its geographical nature, which includes 14 geographical formations of mountains, plains, and plateaus.

He pointed out that KSRNR launched during this year 14 voluntary initiatives, including campaigns to increase the green area, such as planting seedlings and spreading seeds, in addition to afforestation campaigns with a target of more than 600,000 seedlings, with the participation of several voluntary bodies and teams from the local community.
