Pristina: Republic of Kosova Prime Minister Albin Kurti yesterday inaugurated the sixth edition of the Jusoor Exhibition in Pristina's Skanderbeg Square. The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, in cooperation with the religious attach© at the Saudi embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ten-day exhibition aims to attract half a million visitors and coincides with the launch of the final qualifiers for the third edition of the international Holy Quran memorization competition in the Balkans, organized in cooperation with the Islamic Sheikhdom in the Republic of Kosova.
The exhibition promotes authentic Islamic concepts and highlights the religion's values of moderation, mercy, and justice. It features diverse cultural and outreach activities and showcases the Kingdom's rich Islamic and historical heritage, aiming to foster intercultural dialogue and build communication bridges between people.
In a speech delivered at the exhibition's opening, the prime minister of Kosova praised the Kingdom's historical and humanitarian role towards his country, emphasizing its constant closeness to the Kosovar people, especially during critical moments in its recent history. He stated that this reflects the depth of friendship and sincere stances that bind the two countries. "The Kingdom is close to the people of Kosova, and the support it provided, especially during difficult times, is evidence of the strong and sincere friendship between us, and we are grateful to it," he said.
Kurti stated that relations between the two countries have evolved into a strong and growing partnership across various sectors. He highlighted cooperation in tourism, education, economy, and culture, noting significant recent exchanges between citizens for diverse purposes. He added that the exhibition's name reflects Arab heritage and the Kingdom's spirit, enhancing Kosovar understanding of Saudi culture.
He stressed that this cultural bridge connects cultures and societies, serving as a center for reflection and interaction. He affirmed that the Kingdom today stands as a model promoting peace and unity, honoring the past, and offering hope for the future.
Grand Mufti and Head of the Islamic Sheikhdom in the Republic of Kosova Naim Ternava thanked the Saudi leadership for its ongoing support, emphasizing that the event is a result of collaboration between the Kosovar Islamic Sheikhdom and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. He added that it demonstrates both parties' commitment to spreading Islamic values, fostering cultural exchange, and bridges of communication among peoples.
