KSAU-HS to Host Lecture on Nanomedicine

General

King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) will hold Wednesday a scientific lecture titled “Innovation in the Uses and Applications of Nanomedicine”, presented by Dr. Chad A. Mirkin, director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology, winner of the 2023 King Faisal Prize (KFP) in Medicine and Science for his work in chemistry.

The lecture will be delivered at the university’s conference center and broadcast via video simultaneously to the university campuses in Jeddah and Al-Ahsa.

Mirkin was awarded KFP for his outstanding contribution to introducing the concept of nanoparticles as atoms and DNA as bonds to design functional crystalline macroscopic materials, enriching the repertoire of chemistry and material tools, and defining the modern age of nanotechnology.

The lecture is part of KSAU-HS endeavor to have experts and scientists in the medical field deliver outstanding lectures and hold training workshops to qualify cadres and practitioners. This helps advance medical re
search and spurs innovations by KSAU-HS cadres in its three university cities.
