Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Project for clearing explosives in Yemen has successfully removed 815 across various Yemeni regions during the second week of October. This includes six anti-personnel mines, 56 anti-tank mines, 748 unexploded ordnances, and five improvised explosive devices.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this brings the total number of mines cleared in October to 2,134, raising the overall figure since the launch of the Masam Project to 518,633 mines. These devices had been randomly planted across Yemen's territories, endangering innocent civilians -- including children, women, and the elderly -- and spreading fear among peaceful communities.
Through its humanitarian arm, the KSrelief, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to clear landmines in Yemen under the project that aims at ensuring civilian safety and helping Yemeni citizens lead a secure and dignified life.
