Aden: The volunteer medical team of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Aden saved the life of a 33-year-old Yemeni woman who was suffering from rheumatic heart disease.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the patient traveled for 15 hours to receive medical care from the volunteer team just one day before the conclusion of the adult cardiac surgery and catheterization campaign in Aden. She was admitted to Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in critical condition, suffering from severe shortness of breath and circulatory collapse, which led to cardiac arrest for 20 minutes upon arrival.
The volunteer medical team performed first aid and cardiac resuscitation, and examinations revealed severe damage to the heart valves. The patient was then transferred to the operating room for emergency open-heart surgery, which was successfully completed.
