KSrelief Renovates Health Institute in Yemen’s Lahij

Lahij: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has rehabilitated and re-equipped the Higher Institute for Health Sciences building in Yemen's Lahij Governorate. The project included repairing and maintaining six main buildings, furnishing 10 classrooms, and renovating 36 student dormitories.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project involved the maintenance and furnishing of 38 bathrooms to ensure suitable living conditions, and the equipping of four modern medical laboratories with advanced equipment to enhance education in health-related fields. KSrelief also provided the institute with 539 pieces of furniture and supplied its dormitories with an additional 414 items.

The centre delivered 828 medical devices across various departments, including nursing, surgery, reproductive health, and dentistry, alongside five electronic devices to support teaching. The project aims to improve the educational environment, provide suitable conditions for students and academic staff in Lahij, and serve students from neighboring governorates. An estimated 1,850 people are direct beneficiaries, while the wider impact is expected to reach some 860,000 across Yemen.

The KSrelief office director in Aden, Saleh Al-Dhaibani, reiterated that the project seeks to boost the academic and professional capabilities of qualified health personnel by offering a conducive learning environment for the institute's students. This project is the latest in a series of humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom via KSrelief to bolster Yemen's educational and health infrastructure, ultimately preparing skilled health professionals to meet the needs of Yemeni society.
