Makkah Route Initiative Extends Services to Karachi Airport in Pakistan

Islamabad, The Makkah Route Initiative, in its sixth year, has extended its services to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan, in addition to Islamabad International Airport, with the aim of streamlining the Hajj procedures for Pakistani pilgrims.

This happens through the services offered already at the airport, which include collecting accurate pilgrim data, and facilitating the required procedures.

By covering the Jinnah Airport, the initiative proves its commitment to continuous improvement. By carrying out diverse procedures, the initiative ensures a more efficient and distinct experience for pilgrims every year. It does so through several counters equipped with advanced AI technologies, and qualified personnel that provides exceptional services. This facilitates the seamless departure of pilgrims from countries covered by the initiative.

Continuous monitoring guarantees compliance with health standards and the quality of service. Performance indicators are in place to evaluate the personnel’s performance assigned to this crucial task on a 24/7 basis.

Furthermore, the initiative emphasizes the significance of standards and indicators for consistent, high-quality service for pilgrims. These standards and indicators are constantly reviewed and updated, in collaboration with partners, to ensure that they are effective in serving pilgrims.

The initiative operates through precise stages, starting with assessing readiness at the airports of beneficiary countries. Trained supervisors conduct field inspections to ensure lounge readiness, including work points and counters, and continuously measure wait times and level of satisfaction with the services.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs at the Pakistani Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Zulfiquar Haider said th
at the expansion of the Makkah Route Initiative has greatly facilitated procedures for Pakistani beneficiaries, making their journey to Makkah easier and simpler.

He also said that the initiative, launched in Pakistan in 2019, has evolved in time and recently expanded by adding a new lounge at Karachi International Airport alongside that at Islamabad International Airport.

Haider expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the initiative, acknowledging its role in expediting and facilitating the procedures pilgrims must carry out.
