Mawani President Reviews Saudi Ports Authority’s Role in Advancing National Economy During Budget Forum 2026

Riyadh: President of the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) Suliman Almazroua said that ports are a central link in the global economy, with 85% of international trade passing through them. He noted that their development amplifies the impact of modern economic systems, from blue and green economies to the circular carbon and digital economies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, speaking at the Budget Forum 2026, Almazroua explained that ports are no longer only docking points for ships; rather, they have become essential components of global supply chain strength and resilience, housing logistics zones, factories, and distribution centers that position them as key players in the international economy. He added that this transformation was recognized by Saudi Vision 2030, which placed ports at the core of plans to strengthen the national economy.

Almazroua concluded by affirming that any difficult equation becomes solvable when there is clear vision, inspired leadership, and dedicated professionals working together within the Mawani ecosystem.
