Jeddah: Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh and President of the Islamic Union and Grand Mufti of the Republic of North Macedonia Hafiz Sakir Fetahu have signed an executive program for a memorandum of understanding in Islamic fields. The signing ceremony, held in Jeddah, underscores the robust relations between the two nations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the program serves as an implementation of a previous memorandum and encompasses several initiatives. These initiatives include academic courses to train imams, khatibs, and muezzins, advocacy programs to promote moderation, balance, and tolerance in Islam, and the provision of publications from the ministry and the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex in Madinah to the Islamic Sheikhdom. It also involves exchanging invitations to conferences and Quran competitions. The program further details a scholarly meeting in Madinah and a visit by one of the imams of the two holy mosques to North Macedonia.
Following the signing, the minister highlighted that under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia remains committed to serving Islam and Muslims globally. He emphasized the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and North Macedonia and noted that this collaboration is part of the Kingdom's efforts to disseminate authentic Islamic knowledge according to the Quran and Sunnah.
The grand mufti of North Macedonia expressed gratitude for the Kingdom's leading role in supporting Islam and Muslims, acknowledging the Saudi leadership's contributions to religious and humanitarian endeavors worldwide.
