Aseer: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Aseer Region discussed yesterday strategies to rehabilitate abandoned and unused farms, aiming to return them to production by identifying the farms, assessing their needs, and developing rehabilitation plans. The initiatives are designed to optimize the use of available agricultural resources, enhance productivity, and support sustainable agricultural development in the region.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting reviewed mechanisms for identifying unused farms and assessing their needs. It focused on developing practical plans to rehabilitate these farms, resume agricultural activities, monitor rehabilitation projects in the field, identify potential challenges, and propose appropriate solutions.
The discussions also covered ways to document successful experiences, models, and good agricultural practices to strengthen the committee's work. Additionally, the methods for measuring the impact of rehabilitation efforts and monitoring performance indicators were addressed, with an emphasis on monthly reports that document achievements, ongoing challenges, and recommendations and proposals for further development.
