The Muslim World League (MWL) has chosen the Malawian capital, Lilongwe, to celebrate this year’s International Youth Day. MWL Secretary General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa joined the celebrations with the league’s orphans and launched a series of development and intellectual initiatives for African youth.

The initiatives included programs for orphan care and empowerment, as well as educational programs, such as the first competition for female Quran memorizers in Tanzania, which saw the participation and attendance of more than 50,000 people.

Other initiatives included the African Youth Parliament, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday at the Kenyan Parliament’s headquarters, and the Africa Youth Forum 2024, which is slated to be hosted at the UN headquarters in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on Thursday.
