NCVC Launches One Million Seedling Planting Project in Mahayel Aseer

Riyadh: The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) branch in Aseer Region has launched an environmental project aimed at planting one million seedlings in the almadra forest of Mahayel Aseer Governorate. This initiative, which commenced yesterday, is a part of the broader Saudi Green Initiative and is situated 80 km northwest of Abha.



According to Saudi Press Agency, the project seeks to enhance community engagement by involving local volunteer teams in the planting efforts. The primary objectives include reducing carbon emissions, restoring plant biodiversity, combating climate change, and supporting ecotourism activities in the region. This initiative underscores the commitment to environmental sustainability and aims to bring about significant ecological benefits to Mahayel Aseer.
