Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today, Saturday, that Moscow will deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
Russia’s Tass News Agency quoted Putin as saying that Russia had concluded an agreement with its neighbor Belarus to deploy tactical nuclear weapons on its territory.
Putin added: Such a step does not violate the nuclear non-proliferation agreements, pointing out that the United States has deployed nuclear weapons on the territory of its European allies.
The Agency stated that Russia had transferred ten aircraft to Belarus that are capable of carrying tactical nuclear weapons.
