Quality of Life Program CEO: teamLab Borderless Museum in Jeddah is Important Addition to the Kingdom’s Cultural Scene

Jeddah: Quality of Life Program CEO Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Baker stressed that the teamLab Borderless international museum in Jeddah contributes to achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 concerning increasing the Kingdom’s contribution to arts and culture, and the cultural content, and strengthening the infrastructure in order to host international art exhibitions.

The museum is the first of its kind in the Middle East; it includes more than 80 experimental artworks designed by the teamLab group using digital technology in a unique creative experience aiming to improve the quality of life in the Kingdom.

Al-Baker said at the opening of the museum: ‘The teamLab Borderless museum aims to be a cultural and tourist destination for residents and visitors of Jeddah. We seek, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, to establish the cultural infrastructure in the Kingdom by developing quality cultural facilities and museums that enhance the cultural display in various regions of the Kingdom to raise the
quality of life, to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.’

The teamLab Borderless museum was done in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and the teamLab international artistic group. It extends over an area of 10,000 square meters in Historic Jeddah included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and is part of the initiatives of the Quality of Life Program, which works to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030.

The teamLab Borderless museum was launched in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, in 2018, and received more than 2.3 million visitors annually, achieving a record for being the world’s most visited museum dedicated to a single art group.

The museum is expected to raise the number of tourists visiting the Kingdom and strengthen its position as a global cultural destination.
