Quba Mosque Welcomes Pilgrim Influx Amidst Major Expansion Project

Madinah: The Quba Mosque, second in prominence only to the Prophet's Mosque, is currently experiencing a large influx of pilgrims drawn by its profound historical significance and connection to the Prophet's biography. As the first mosque constructed after the Prophet's migration to Madinah, prayer here offers a unique religious and spiritual experience.

According to Saudi Press Agency, pilgrims of various nationalities are visiting the Quba Mosque, benefiting from numerous services provided by Al Madinah Region Development Authority and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance branch, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for worshippers. This influx comes as the mosque welcomes pilgrims following the partial completion of its significant development and expansion works.

Work is currently underway on the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' project for the expansion and development of the Quba Mosque and its surrounding areas, which is being implemented by Al Madinah Region Development Authority.

The project will expand the mosque and its surrounding courtyards to 10 times their current area, enabling them to accommodate over 66,000 worshippers upon completion. Located approximately 2 km south of the Prophet's Mosque, the project is designed to preserve the historic mosque's distinct Islamic architectural character with meticulous care.
