Saudi Arabia, China Sign Agreements on Scholarships, Educational Curricula

Riyadh: The Saudi and Chinese education ministries on Monday signed two memoranda of cooperation to facilitate the exchange of expertise in advanced curricula and provide scholarship programs for Saudi students in China, thus enhancing both countries' educational ties.

According to Saudi Press Agency, one of the memoranda signed will help secure seats for Saudi students in top Chinese universities, enhance the implementation of scholarship programs, and increase opportunities for Saudi students in high-demand fields within the local job market. The China Scholarship Council represented the Chinese Ministry of Education during the signing.

The other memorandum, signed with the Chinese ministry's Center for Language Education and Cooperation, is part of an initiative to introduce Chinese language education in Saudi public schools starting this academic year. The collaboration empowers experts from both Saudi Arabia and China to develop a robust Chinese language curriculum.
