Belo Horizonte: The Saudi chemistry team won three bronze medals at the 59th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad (IMChO 2025), held in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, from May 5 to 13.
According to Saudi Press Agency, students Ammar Al-Turkistani from the Jeddah education department, Haidar Al-Dubisi from the Eastern Region education department, and Rand Al-Hassan from the Riyadh education department brought home the bronze medals, competing among 192 students representing 40 countries.
With this achievement, Saudi Arabia has increased its accolades at the IMChO-known to be the most difficult chemistry competition in the world with challenging questions and format-to 26 medals; 3 silver and 23 bronze.
