The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has said that the date production has surpassed the needs of the Kingdom, having exceeded 1.6 million tons annually. This surge is attributed to the expansion of palm cultivation on 165,000 hectares. This significant growth of the date industry aligns with Saudi Vision 2030. Riyadh emerges as the top date producer, contributing 436,112 tons annually, followed by Qassim with 390,698 tons. Madinah and the Eastern Region also make substantial contributions, producing 263,283 tons and 203,069 tons respectively. Other regions also contribute significantly to the Kingdom's date production. Hail produces 73,298 tons, followed by Al-Jouf with 65,020 tons. Makkah contributes 64,095 tons, while Aseer produces 55,225 tons. Tabuk adds 52,792 tons to the total, and Najran contributes 9,837 tons. Smaller yields come from Al-Baha, with 2,969 tons, the Northern Borders, with 1,314 tons, and Jazan, with 111 tons.
