Saudi Arabia Participates in High-Level UN Meeting on ‘ICT Security Capacity Building’

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the National Cybersecurity Authority, has participated in the high-level international meeting at the United Nations on “ICT Security Capacity Building” held by the Open-ended Working Group on the security and safe use of information and communication technologies. Ministers responsible for the ICT security of UN member states and the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Wasil, participated in the meeting.

The meeting, which aims to provide an effective platform for countries to exchange ideas, share best practices, and build partnerships, was headed by the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Eng. Majid bin Mohammed Al-Mazyad addressed the importance of strengthening international efforts on capacity building in ICT security to minimize the risks witnessed in cyberspace globally.

Eng. Al-Mazyad emphasized the Kingdom’s keenness to share its successful experience and exc
hange expertise to enhance cybersecurity internationally and reach a safe and trusted cyberspace that contributes to the world population’s prosperity. He also hailed the Kingdom’s great strides in building qualified cadres to enhance cybersecurity for various sectors and entities with sensitive infrastructure.
