JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Suhaibani, met yesterday at the delegation’s headquarters in Jeddah with OIC humanitarian funds chairman of the board of trustees Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Suhaibani praised the efforts of the humanitarian funds and their role in OIC member states, especially those suffering from difficult humanitarian situations. He noted their goals in building communities, human development, spreading goodness, combating poverty, and achieving global leadership in humanitarian work.
For his part, Al Thani reviewed the current objectives of the specialized humanitarian funds, their plans, fields of work, and the expected services in needy countries. He highlighted their pursuit of implementing programs in peace-building and rehabilitating targeted local communities to achieve sustainable development, applying justice values to end pover
ty and the effects and causes of crises and disasters.
