Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council: A Framework for Deepening Bilateral Relations

Manama: The Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council embodies the strong fraternal ties and historical alignment between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Founded in July 2019 after consultations between the two countries' foreign ministers, the council serves as a structured framework for cooperation and joint action. Since its first session in December 2020, it has become an effective platform for policy coordination and the implementation of strategic initiatives, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the council is co-chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The council aims to strengthen cooperation foundations and deepen ties in political, economic, military, media, investment, and social fields, enhancing the welfare of their peoples to provide a prosperous future.

In February 2025, the first Saudi-Bahraini Investment Forum convened in Dhahran to spotlight investment partnerships and opportunities for the private sector. The forum involved over 400 participants from both the government and private sectors, fostering economic cooperation and the exchange of expertise.

Furthermore, the agreements and memoranda of understanding anticipated at today's fourth meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council in Manama are expected to deepen further cooperation in areas such as the avoidance of double taxation, the encouragement of direct investment, sustainable development, and the protection of competition. These agreements are anticipated to enhance relations, particularly in the developmental, investment, and international trade sectors.
