Dushanbe: A delegation from the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce held economic discussions yesterday in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, with senior Tajik officials and representatives from the public and private sectors.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the delegation met with Deputy Minister for Agriculture of Tajikistan, Nigina Anvari, to explore agricultural investment opportunities and the potential export of 12 types of Tajik crops and agricultural products to the Saudi market. The discussion also focused on transferring Saudi expertise in establishing product processing plants and logistics centers to Tajikistan.
The delegation held talks with Deputy Minister of Energy Safarzoda to explore investment in hydropower and solar energy. They highlighted the need for an agreement to safeguard investors' rights and discussed facilitating Saudi investors' participation in establishing new hydropower plants.
It also engaged with Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Aziz Nazar to review investment incentives and cooperation in the minerals, food industries, and agriculture sectors.
The delegation wrapped up its meetings with a discussion at the Agency for Export under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, focusing on enhancing cooperation to promote non-oil exports and increase the trade of key products between the two nations.
