Saudi-Dutch Business Roundtable Held to Enhance Trade and Economic Partnership

Riyadh: A Saudi-Dutch business roundtable was held in Riyadh, chaired by Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi and Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Aukje de Vries, bringing together government and private-sector representatives from both countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the roundtable aimed to strengthen trade and investment partnerships between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, explore investment opportunities and incentives in Saudi Arabia, and review areas of cooperation related to the Kingdom's hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2034. Participants also discussed the legislative environment governing trade and investment in the Saudi market to further advance economic ties between the two nations.

Representatives from the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Sport, the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, the World Cup 2034 Hosting Higher Authority, the Saudi Ports Authority, and senior executives from Dutch companies attended the meeting.

Trade between the two countries reached approximately $36 billion during 2020-2024, with a growth rate of 3.73%. Key Saudi exports included organic chemical products, fats, and animal or vegetable oils, while major Dutch exports to the Kingdom comprised metal products, boilers, machinery, appliances, and mechanical tools.
