Riyadh– As contestants in 45 sports raced with tremendous excitement to win the first positions and earn their medals, the women’s 49kg weightlifting competition recorded the first coronation in the history of the greatest national sporting event.
Princess Dilayel bint Nahar bin Saud, Saudi Games Tournament’s Deputy Director General, crowned the 49 kg women’s weightlifting competition winners. This was followed by other games in which the contestants displayed attention and zeal in both team and individual events.
At 8:00 p.m. tomorrow, King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh (Al-Durra Stadium) will host the opening ceremony of the largest national Olympic sporting event. The ceremony will feature the largest sports march in the Kingdom, festive artistic performances, fireworks, and a wide range of exhilarating and varied activities that keep pace with the significance and scope of this first national sporting event of its kind.
