Makkah: The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) announced that the water system pumped 904,941 cubic meters of water into Makkah and the holy sites on Eid al-Adha, bringing the total amount of water pumped since the beginning of Dhu al-Hijjah until the tenth day to 8,699,740 cubic meters. This comes as part of an integrated operational plan aimed at ensuring the security and sustainability of water supplies during the Hajj season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Authority confirmed that the water system continues to operate with high operational efficiency, relying on production and transmission capacities that meet peak daily demand, exceeding 1.2 million cubic meters per day, and a daily pumping capacity exceeding one million cubic meters, benefiting from an integrated system of smart infrastructure and advanced technologies.

The integrated operational performance reflects the combined efforts of all sectors of the system, which work to ensure abundant supply and efficient distribution, through advanced network management and increased operational efficiency, in addition to utilizing storage, transportation and treatment capabilities. Meanwhile, the rationalization initiatives implemented by the National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (Ma'i) contribute to enhancing the sustainability of resources and achieving efficient use.

As part of its operational oversight work, the Authority conducted 4,257 laboratory tests on Eid Al-Adha to ensure the quality and safety of water, thus enhancing the reliability of the supply provided to the guests of God.
