SFDA Launches ‘Summer and Tourism’ Awareness Campaign, Warning Against Unknown Foods During Travel

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has launched the “Summer and Tourism’ campaign to raise awareness about the impact of high temperatures on drug characteristics and their effectiveness, as well as on food exposed to inappropriate storage conditions. The campaign also aims to raise awareness about the safe handling of insecticides and rodenticides.

The campaign features educational materials related to food allergies, the benefits of consuming fruits and vegetables rich in water to avoid dehydration during the summer, tips for safe food handling, and best practices for storing medications during travel.

The SFDA has warned travelers against consuming exposed foods or those sold by street vendors, emphasizing the importance of purchasing products from reliable sources. It stressed the need to check expiry dates before consumption, read food labels to ensure their accuracy and safety and follow instructions to ensure food safety while traveling.

oking meat, poultry, eggs, and fish before consumption, ensuring they reach safe cooking temperatures and are stored under healthy and safe conditions.
