SFDA Warns Against Exposure to Pesticides

General

Riyadh, The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has warned against exposure to pesticides, which pose significant dangers when not handled properly.

This warning is part of SFDA’s “Summer and Tourism” awareness campaign, launched at the beginning of summer, when the use of pesticides increases due to the presence of insects and rodents.

SFDA also stressed the need to ensure that pesticides are registered with it before purchasing and using them at home, and that the product’s name and registration number are listed in the public health pesticide database, which can be found at the following link: https://www.sfda.gov.sa/ar/informationlist/65748.

Moreover, SFDA advised calling the Ministry of Health’s emergency number 937 in case of exposure to pesticides, and stressed that it is important to follow the instructions on the pesticide label, stay away from the site where it is used, and remove any clothing contaminated with pesticide.
