The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) has announced today in a press release its schedule for updating geological data packages as part of the more extensive Geological Survey Program within the National Geological Database Web Portal, with the packages including geological findings such as surface and aerial geophysical surveys, core sample scans, digital technical reports, and the latest registered mineral occurrence sites. According to official spokesperson for the SGS Tariq Aba Al-Khail, the data updates will be released four times a year. The first release will coincide with the annual Future Minerals Forum in January, the second with Earth Day in April, the third in July, and the fourth in October, marking the anniversary of the SGS's establishment. All updates will be available at 12 PM local time on the designated dates. Aba Al-Khail emphasized that this initiative underlines the SGS's role in providing high-value, reliable, and diverse geological survey data to support mineral exploration activities and enhancing the attractiveness of local and foreign investments in the Kingdom's mining sector, ultimately contributing to economic diversification and growth.
