The Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali and the head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, stressed the need to implement the government’s plans for reconstruction and provision of services.
The media office of the Secretary-General of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement said in a statement: “Sheikh Khazali received Talabani in his office in Baghdad today. During the meeting, they discussed the recent developments and their impact on the Iraqi state in general, the government’s performance towards it, and the importance of dealing wisely with events away from emotions and ill-conceived reactions.”
At the same time, the two sides praised the government’s recent steps in standing firm against insults to the sanctity of the Holy Quran and the Iraqi flag.
During the meeting, they stressed Iraq’s need for continued stability at all levels, in order to implement the government plans drawn up in the fields of providing reconstruction and services to the Iraqi people.
