Shura Council Speaker Engages in Official Talks and Signs MoU with Qatari Counterpart

Doha: Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh held today an official session of talks with Speaker of the Qatari Shura Council Hassan Al-Ghanim at the Qatari council's headquarters in Doha.

According to Saudi Press Agency, at the outset of the session, Al-Ghanim welcomed Al Al-Sheikh and the accompanying delegation on their visit to the State of Qatar. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and relations between the two councils to support joint parliamentary work and meet the aspirations of both countries.

Al Al-Sheikh expressed appreciation for the invitation and warm reception. He highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting cooperation and advancing joint action. Both sides reviewed relations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, focusing on strengthening parliamentary cooperation and activating coordination mechanisms.

Following the talks, Al Al-Sheikh and Al-Ghanim signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation between their respective Shura Councils. The MoU aims to enhance joint parliamentary cooperation and reinforce ties between the two countries.

The MoU outlines areas of cooperation in parliamentary affairs, encouraging communication among committees and delegations to exchange expertise, coordinating participation in forums, and promoting joint training and workshops.
