SPA Proceeds with Hajj Media Coverage through 4 Media Sites

General

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has proceeded with its qualitative media coverage of this Hajj season, 1444 Hijri, through four media sites.

The agency has employed the developed technologies in the field of communication and media, including cutting-edge computer equipment and camera.

Through this coverage, SPA aims to present its media content in a professional and diverse way that includes news, reports, video interviews and live footage that reflect the spirituality of Hajj, a major religious ritual.

SPA has allocated two media centers in Arafat and at Makkah Millennium Hotel as part of its plan to provide the necessary media services to local and international media, facilitate their field tasks to cover the rituals, and transfer the Hajj coverage to various parts of the world.

SPA has equipped the two centers with modern technologies to provide media services to government agencies and various media outlets by uploading news materials and high-quality photos and videos.

The media center in Arafat plays a major role in serving the international and local media professionals who come to cover this year’s Hajj.

The center brings together all the services the media professionals need in one place to facilitate their tasks by preparing news materials and providing various photos and footage.

Meanwhile, the media center at Makkah Millennium Hotel, which acts as a mini operations room, follows up with the field work staff and photographers in the holy sites.

The center coordinates with the field staff on the news and photos that they receive, reviews these materials, and also follows up on the news and press conferences conducted by the various sectors working in Hajj.

The media centers saw a high turnout by various media outlets. SPA also allocated a barcode through which it uploads news, photos and videos in all languages for different media outlets.

In addition, the centers follow up on the statements issued by the official spokespeople of government agencies and obtain various statistics, distinguished content and qualitative stories.

The centers rely on a unified work mechanism between all the agency’s sectors of editing, digital media, photography, and the media monitoring department in order to unite efforts to produce media content in the best form.

Moreover, the Saudi Press Agency has set up a newsroom in Mina, which deals with coverage of Hajj conferences for all relevant government sectors, creates field media content that includes news, reports and human stories and conducts interviews supported by photos and videos.

The newsroom’s work aims to highlight the efforts of the government sectors in serving the pilgrims and provide various local and international media agencies with media content.

In Al-Awali, SPA has equipped a center to broadcast news in Arabic, English, French, Persian, Russian and Chinese for subscribers and all media outlets and through the agency’s website.

The center also posts the media content on SPA’s Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube accounts and publishes photos and videos through the agency’s website.
