The Speaker of the Council of Representatives reiterated Bahrain’s call for immediate international action to end the war on Palestine, opening humanitarian corridors to provide aid, protect civilians, and release prisoners, hostages, and detainees.

Al Musallam’s speech also touched on Israel’s ongoing war and aggression against Palestinians; the siege on the Gaza Strip; the looming humanitarian catastrophe due to violations, killings, collective punishment; and violations of international humanitarian law committed against innocent civilians in Gaza.

He commended HM the King’s directives to provide urgent aid to Palestinians in those dire humanitarian circumstances, emphasising Bahrain’s historical support for peace and the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital; based on the two-state solution, Arab Peace Initiative, and international legitimacy resolutions.

The Speaker expressed gratitude for the role of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthen Arab action, Islamic solidarity, international partnership, diplomatic efforts, and humanitarian initiatives.
