The Committee of lifting the European ban on the Iraqi Airways discusses important files with Boeing

The follow-up committee on lifting the European ban on the national carrier (The Iraqi Airways) held its periodic meeting, today, Saturday, at the headquarters of the Iraqi Airways General Company, headed by the Chairman of the Committee, Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, to discuss a number of files related to the air transport sector.

Iraqi Airways stated in a statement, “The committee hosted, in its meeting, representatives of the American Boeing Company to discuss an offer submitted by it, regarding the obtainment of the Iraqi Airways General Company to a certificate of the third operator (TCO), to contribute to lifting the ban on the green bird in European airspace.”

The members of the committee and directors of the concerned departments in the General Company of Iraqi Airways listened to a detailed explanation from Boeing representatives regarding the contract concluded by the Ministry of Transport with Boeing regarding the purchase of aircraft, and the company’s representatives joined from its headquarters in the state of Chicago in the United States of America, via internet , to the meeting”.

The statement added, “The meeting discussed a number of files related to the implementation of the decisions of the government program for the development of Iraqi air transport.”

The minister stressed, “During the meeting, the need for the Iraqi Airways administration to complete its procedures that include compliance with all requirements of local and international aviation authorities, especially the requirements of (EASA), in order for this to lead to the return of Green Bird flights to European airspace.”
