Makkah: Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser chaired the fourth meeting of the supervisory committee for the transportation and logistics sector in preparation for the Hajj Season 1446 AH. Discussions focused on the latest updates on operational readiness, coordination among sector entities, and innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing pilgrim comfort and ensuring a safe transportation experience.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Jasser emphasized the importance of coordination among entities to improve services and ensure an exceptional pilgrim experience, in line with Saudi leadership's directives. The meeting served as a platform to discuss strategies for optimizing the transportation network and ensuring a seamless experience for pilgrims.
Following the meeting, Al-Jasser and other attendees conducted a field tour to assess the readiness of transportation and logistics facilities in Makkah, including the inspection of roads leading to the holy sites. Field teams from the Roads General Authority (RGA) examined more than 7,400 kilometers to ensure safety and readiness for pilgrims. During the visit, the flexible rubber asphalt and cold pavement initiatives implemented by the RGA were launched, showcasing the sector's commitment to innovation.
Each year, the transportation and logistics sector leverages innovative solutions and modern technologies to enhance operational efficiency and the travel experience, ultimately enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to ensure that the Hajj season is managed with the highest standards of safety and convenience for all involved.
