Unaizah Camel Auction Drives Economic Growth and Heritage Preservation

Unaizah:The third edition of the Unaizah Camel Auction in the Qassim Region is currently boosting economic and tourist activity, drawing in camel owners, enthusiasts, and visitors. This event seamlessly combines commercial opportunities with the preservation of national heritage, offering marketing platforms for investors, families in the cottage industry, and artisans.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the auction, which began last Thursday and will continue for eight days, has seen a substantial influx of visitors and participants. The event's success is bolstered by a comprehensive infrastructure designed to facilitate transactions and enhance the overall experience for attendees.

Spanning 1.2 million square meters at the intersection of King Fahd Road and Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road, the Unaizah Camel Auction District is organized by the Qassim Region Municipality, with the Unaizah Municipality at the helm. Preparations included extending the camel exhibition avenue by over 320 meters, widening pathways, and improving lighting and sanitation, alongside daily maintenance. The venue also features 26 camel sculptures and dedicated hospitality areas to ensure a smooth flow for participants and visitors.

The economic benefits of the auction are evident in the marketing opportunities it presents. The event has allocated specific spaces for 30 productive families and areas dedicated to traditional crafts and local artisanal products. These provisions aim to support families and craftspeople while leveraging the auction to stimulate commercial activity in the region.

This third edition continues to build on efforts to develop heritage-focused events and capitalize on the cultural and economic strengths of the Qassim Region. Such initiatives not only support local tourism and community involvement but also create broader investment opportunities in the camel sector and its related activities.
