Rabat: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) presented a publication today at the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat, titled ‘Underlining the role and legacy of the Arabic Language along the Silk Roads.”
The publication is a collaborative product between UNESCO’s Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Program for the Arabic Language and the Silk Roads Program.
ICESCO Director-General Dr. Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik emphasized that the Arabic language, originating in the Arabian Peninsula-the cradle of the Islamic message-has reached as far as China and Central Asia, extending to Trkiye and the borders of Europe.
He highlighted that translation to and from Arabic has become one of the most important sciences.
Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation Director-General Saleh Ibrahim Al-Khulaifi expressed his happiness with the collaborative efforts, highlighting the importance of the publication in showcasing
the status of the Arabic language in promoting intercultural dialogue.
